How it works

From your shelf to the podium

Every consignment moves through four unhurried stages on Little Collins Street. Most collections reach the block within six to eight weeks.

  1. 01

    Enquiry & intake

Send photographs or bring your pieces to the counter. A specialist confirms whether an item suits our sales calendar — usually within two business days.

  2. 02

    Appraisal & reserve

We grade condition, research provenance and agree a fair reserve with you. Written valuations start at A$150 and are credited back on consignment.

  3. 03

    Cataloguing & preview

Each lot is photographed, described and published in the printed and online catalogue. Public viewing runs for five days before every sale.

  4. 04

    Auction & settlement

Bid live in the room, by phone or online. Vendors are settled within twenty-one days of a successful hammer, less our flat seller’s commission.

Frequently asked questions

Everything vendors and bidders ask before their first sale with us.

Selling with us

Start with an enquiry — email photographs to [email protected] or bring pieces to the counter Tuesday to Saturday. A specialist confirms suitability, agrees a reserve with you and issues a consignment receipt. Most items reach the block within six to eight weeks.

We charge a flat vendor’s commission agreed in writing before your lots are catalogued, plus a small per-lot photography and cataloguing fee. There are no hidden charges, and any paid valuation fee is credited against commission when you consign.

Vendors are settled within twenty-one days of a successful hammer, once the buyer has cleared payment. Funds are transferred directly to your nominated Australian bank account with an itemised statement.

Bidding & buying

Yes. You can leave an absentee bid, book a telephone line with one of our clerks, or bid live through our online platform. Register at least twenty-four hours before the sale so we can verify your account.

A buyer’s premium of 18% is added to the hammer price on every lot, inclusive of GST. Your invoice shows the hammer, premium and any freight separately so there are no surprises.

We arrange insured freight Australia-wide through vetted specialist carriers. Fragile items such as arcade cabinets are crated in-house. Local collection from 59 Little Collins Street is free during viewing hours.
